What sold through last week
Prana POS (600+ shops), week of Sept 8–14 — this is store sell-through, not pull rankings:
- Spawn ’77 #1 — #1 seller of the week. Regular Cover A is still a cover-price book; the chase is the scarce homage / live-app exclusives (Whatnot red retro logo has been clearing three-figure aftermarket).
- Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham Central #1 — #2 on POS. The Bad Seeds weeklies (Nightwing / Detective / Batwoman / Catwoman) are still the books people are asking for by name. On our shelf right now: Batman #13, Nightwing #142, Batwoman #7.
- Transformers #36 — #3 POS as the Superion era opens. Natural follow is #37 before FOC.
- Also in the Top 10: Punisher #8, Batman & Robin: Year One Dynamic Duos #2, Challenges of Doom: Spider-Man #1.
Marketshare that week: DC edged Marvel, with Image lifted hard by Spawn ’77. Soft debut call: Archie #1 (Oni) landed around #40 on POS — fine read, not a lottery book.
Aftermarket movers (old + new)
CovrPrice / ComicsHeatingUp / Bleeding Cool hot lists this stretch — named highs only where the source posted them:
- Lanterns keys — Green Lantern #49 / #50, GL #25 (Atrocitus), Sinestro Corps Special #1, plus the just-shipped Green Lantern Corps #20 Jahnoy Lindsay cover (John Stewart likeness). TV heat is still walking people into the longboxes.
- Scorched #54 (Prince of Cats debut) — topped an earlier CovrPrice week (high ~$33 raw / FMV ~$24 on that list).
- Venom #261 Ito + Nightwing #140 Dan Mora swimsuit — cover-chase aftermarket, still on the board.
- Captain America #15 Skan Mephisto — art chase + MCU speculation; also showed up in earlier POS.
- Star Wars: Book of Boba Fett #1 Ordway 1:25 — homage heat (high ~$72 / FMV ~$57 on the Sept 15 list). Temuera Morrison is at Edmonton Expo this weekend, so expect the ask.
- Geiger #1 (Gary Frank) — Netflix option news got another bounce. Option ≠ series ordered; treat it as option chatter, not a greenlight.
- Nonplayer #1 (2011) — sudden YouTube doc spike topped a later CovrPrice Top 10. Fun spike; don’t bank on it sticking.
- Amazing Spider-Man #36 (2001) — 25th anniversary of that week gave it a seasonal lift.
Just hit the rack (too early for sales charts)
Sept 16 books are only a couple days old. League of Comic Geeks “+” counts are pull/wishlist interest, not POS:
- Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow’s Hand #1 — heavy Absolute / Cass ask this week; big exclusive ecosystem.
- DNX #1 — steep incentive ladder; variant hunters only until real sell-through shows up.
- Bad Seeds keep rolling: Nightwing #142, Detective Comics #1113, Batwoman #7, Catwoman #91.
Date check: Amazing Spider-Man #1000 did not ship this week. Marvel’s already at 400,000+ retailer orders with a 2nd printing set for Oct 28. LCSD early copies (Skan) at participating shops Sept 26; wide release Sept 30.
FOC tonight
Customer FOC closes at 11:30. Books that are actually moving or about to — not the whole slate. Each title links straight to its Manage Comics FOC product page so you can lock it without hunting. Full FOC list: okanagansportscardsandcomics.com/pages/managecomics/foc.
- Predator Vs. Punisher #1 — marquee crossover; steep 1:100 tier.
- Transformers #37 — follow the #36 sell-through; 1:100 on the sheet.
- Absolute Catwoman #4 — DC’s only ratio this FOC week (1:25).
- Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham Central #2 — line that just did #2 POS on #1.
- Avengers: Armageddon #5 + Action Comics #1103 (Lex Luthor: Year One / Waid) — story FOCs worth locking.
Absolute Batman #24 already locked — it ships next Wednesday (delayed from Sept 9). Don’t treat it as tonight’s FOC book.
Watch / skip
- Reprint traps on recent lists: Battle Beast later printings, Absolute Batman 2025 Annual 4th print art chase, GI Joe #330 3rd — later print ≠ first-print heat.
- X-Men #139 Kitty casting chatter is rumor-volume thin — don’t overpay the rumor.
- Dynamite Firefly #2 is a 19-cover swamp — ask carefully before you over-order the variants.
Next week’s likely movers
- Tomorrow — Batman Day (Sept 19): Batman of Two Worlds #1 ($2.99). Feeds straight into Absolute Batman #24 on Wednesday.
- Wed Sept 23: Absolute Batman #24 is the primary rack heat, with Absolute Wonder Woman #24 / Absolute Flash #19 on the same Absolute shelf.
- Also circling: Book of Boba Fett #2 (Expo hangover), Last Driver #2, Infernal Hulk vs Wolverine #1 (game launched Sept 15 — comic POS link still unproven).
Nearby / moving paper
- Edmonton Expo — today through Sunday. Temuera Morrison on the floor = Boba Fett paper asks.
- Sept 26: New West Comic Fest (Sapperton) + Vancouver Comic & Toy Show #30 at the PNE Forum — same Saturday as ASM #1000 LCSD early copies.
