New Comic Book Day
Wednesday, October 28, 2026
Here's what we'd actually like to put in your hands.
Halloween week, and it's a big one. Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman both hit #25, Bad Seeds wraps up with the Sunrise one-shot, Snyder and Williamson give Darkseid his own 48-page origin, and Kelly Thompson brings the Bride of Frankenstein back to life at Image. On the Marvel side, Amazing Venom #2 and Alien vs. X-Men #2 are on the wall (they're this week, not last), along with ASM #1002 and a new Rogue One Darth Vader #1. We checked the list against DC.com, Image, Comic Book Club, Comics Bulletin and our own distributor listings.
On the wall right now
This week's books weren't up on the site yet when we posted, so these five are the catch-up reads that are already live and lead straight into today. The covers link to the product pages. Ask us at the counter for anything new.

What's new this week
- Absolute Batman #25 (Scott Snyder / Nick Dragotta, $5.99, 30 pages). It's the arc finale with a gatefold triptych cover. Snyder calls it the biggest issue he and Dragotta have done, and Bleeding Cool reported shop orders past 775,000. #26 is a Barbara Gordon issue with a guest artist.
- Absolute Wonder Woman #25 (Kelly Thompson / Hayden Sherman). It's an oversized milestone issue: Diana's search for Barbara Minerva ends badly and the Absolute Cheetah debuts.
- Batman: Bad Seeds – Sunrise #1 (Matt Fraction, G. Willow Wilson / Giuseppe Camuncoli, $5.99, oversized). This is the end of Bad Seeds, as Batman has until dawn to stop Ivy's prehistoric Gotham. Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham General #1 (Greg Rucka / Rosa Ekedal) is the no-capes ER story, and it's the one we'd hand a Gotham Central fan. Also out: Poison Ivy #49 and Harley Quinn #67.
- DC All In Saga: Darkseid vs. the World #1 (Snyder, Joshua Williamson / Sanford Greene). It's a 48-page one-shot about how Uxas became Darkseid. Also new from DC: Justice League: The Dark Realm Special #1 (Dan Mora writing and drawing), Superman: The Wedding Album 30th Anniversary Special #1, Superman #43, Flash #38, Green Lantern #40, Zatanna #7 and JLU #24.
- Amazing Spider-Man #1002 (Joe Kelly / Pepe Larraz). It's round three against Ravage, and we get clues to the villain's origin. Amazing Venom #2, Alien vs. X-Men #2, X-Men #40 and Fantastic Four #18 (both DNX tie-ins), Captain America #16, Daredevil #8, Thor #802 and Punisher #9 are out too.
- Star Wars: Rogue One – Darth Vader #1 (Christopher Condon / Luke Ross). It's Vader in the Rogue One era, and an easy hand-off for a movie fan.
- Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives #1 (Kelly Thompson / Mattia De Iulis, Image/Skybound, 1 of 4) is this week's horror pick. Also from Image: Spawn #380, Department of Truth #39, Monstress #65, Capes #12, Terminal #4, Ghost Pepper #16 and Witchblade: Samhain Special.
- Elsewhere: Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight – Villains and Vignettes #1 (Dark Horse), Godzilla: Revenge of the Deadzone #1 (IDW), Umbrella Academy: Plan B #5 and ThunderCats: Cheetara #2.
Must-pulls
- Absolute Batman #25: the book everybody will be talking about by Friday. If you've been reading, don't wait.
- Absolute Wonder Woman #25: maybe the best-written book in the Absolute line, and this is a payoff issue.
- Batman: Bad Seeds – Gotham General #1: Rucka writing a hospital drama in Gotham. It reads fine even if you skipped the crossover.
- Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives #1: the Halloween read, and Thompson and De Iulis are a proven team.
- Batman: Bad Seeds – Sunrise #1: grab it if you've been following Bad Seeds, because the ending is here.
- Star Wars: Rogue One – Darth Vader #1: a clean #1 for the Star Wars fan in your life.
Collector notes from the counter
This isn't a buy list. It's what we're seeing and hearing.
- What sold last week: in Bleeding Cool's Wednesday-to-weekend chart (ComicHub sales from 120 to 150 stores, Oct 25), Absolute Green Arrow #6 was number one, outselling Avengers: Armageddon #5 by about two-thirds. Absolute Flash #20, Detective #1114 and the ASM Halloween Special #1 came next.
- eBay heat (CovrPrice tracking via ComicsHeatingUp, week ending Oct 25, USD): the Detective #880 LEGO facsimile is still number one (203 sold, raw NM FMV $97). Stillwater #1 is climbing on the Prime Video series (raw NM FMV $34), and Daredevil #150 (first Paladin) is moving with VisionQuest on Disney+.
- Absolute keys: the same CovrPrice list has Absolute Evil #1 at a $23 raw NM FMV (30 sold). With two Absolute #25s out today, the line is getting a lot of attention, but story first.
- Date check: some lists showed Amazing Venom #2 and Alien vs. X-Men #2 last week. They're actually out today.
FOC closes Friday at 11:30 pm
Here's what to lock before Friday night. Tap a title to reserve it, or browse the full Last Call (FOC) list.
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 (Dec 9): Christos Gage and Eric Gapstur fill the gap between seasons of the Disney+ show. It's the easiest Spidey hand-off for a kid.
- Spider-Man: Incursions #1 (Dec 9): Gage and Ron Lim. Spider-Gwen meets Mayday Parker as Earth-65 and Earth-982 collide.
- Fugitive X-Force #1 (Dec 9): Tim Seeley and Áthila Fabbio. Boom-Boom leads a framed X-Force.
- Batman 2026 Annual #1 (Nov 25): Fraction and Brian Ching finally reveal who the Minotaur is.
- Absolute Wonder Woman #26: if today's #25 lands, lock in the next one now.
- Kingdom Come #4 Facsimile (Dec 2) and Miracleman #1 Facsimile (Dec 23). With Miracleman in the new Avengers, that one's worth a call.
